Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 15, 2026

By downloading or using DialedIn, you agree to these terms. I've written them to be straightforward. If something isn't clear, just ask.

Use the app fairly

DialedIn is for personal, lawful use. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. Please don't:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access or tamper with my servers or infrastructure
  • Submit false or malicious data through equipment requests or other feedback
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app (except as permitted by law)

Optional account

You don't need an account to use DialedIn's core features. If you create one (via email/password or Sign in with Apple), you're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for all activity under your account. Let me know immediately at [email protected] if something looks off.

Your data is yours

Everything you create in DialedIn — brew logs, notes, preferences — belongs to you. I don't claim any rights to it.

If you use DialedIn as a guest, all your data stays on your device only — I can't access it. If your device is lost or the app is uninstalled, that data is gone — back up your device regularly.

If you create an account, your brew sessions, coffee library, equipment, and profile preferences are backed up to the cloud. See the Privacy Policy for the full details of what's stored and how.

Brew parameters are informational

DialedIn is a tracking tool. Any parameters, ratios, or suggestions in the app are for reference only. I make no guarantees about the quality, taste, or safety of any beverage you prepare. You're responsible for your own equipment and brewing practices.

The app is provided as-is

I've worked hard to make DialedIn reliable, but I can't guarantee it'll be perfect all the time. The app is provided “as is” — without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I'm not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including data loss, lost revenue, equipment damage, or personal injury arising from your use of the app.

My total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you donated to DialedIn in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $50 — whichever is less.

Indemnification

You agree to hold me harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Donations

DialedIn is free — no ads, no paywalls, no premium tiers. Every feature is available to every user.

If you choose to support the app, you can make a voluntary donation through Ko-fi or Buy Me a Coffee. Donations are processed entirely by them — I never see or handle your payment details. Donations do not unlock additional features or create any obligation on my part. Donations are non-refundable; contact the respective platform's support for payment disputes.

Apple App Store

These terms are between you and me — not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support, maintenance, or warranties for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Google Play Store

These terms are between you and me — not Google. Google has no obligation to provide support, maintenance, or warranties for the app. If there is any conflict between these terms and Google Play's Developer Distribution Agreement, Google Play's terms govern only to the extent required.

Intellectual property

DialedIn, its design, and its code are mine. Please don't copy, redistribute, or build on it without permission.

Termination

I may suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time, with or without cause. If that happens, your local data stays on your device and you can request deletion of any cloud-stored account data. You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. You waive any right to a jury trial or participation in a class action.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding DialedIn.

Changes

I may update these terms when something meaningful changes. I'll update the date above when I do. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated terms.
